    Arrived in South Africa on 13th April 1688, with his brother Jean, in ship "De Voorschoten", after fleeing from Blois to Holland.

    Gabriel le ROUX, gebore 1671, van Blois was die broer van Jean, en het as Franse Hugenoot in 1688 met die Voorschooten aangekom. Hy was gevestig in 1689 te La Concorde langs die Bergrivier, Paarl. Hy het saam met sy broer Jean verdrink in die Berg- of Wildepaardrivier omstreeks 1711. Hy was getroud sedert 1701 met Maria Catharina le FEBRE, en het 4 seuns en 'n dogter gehad.

    Uit die Le Roux familie-boek sien ons dat ons voorouers nie altyd onberispelike gedrag gehandhaaf het nie: Uit die notule van die vergadering van die “Landdrost en Heemraden” van Stellenbosch van 24.03.17 10:

    Gabriel le Roux verskyn voor die raad op aanklag dat hy die kerkraad van Drakenstein vir esels uitgeskel het. Hy ontken dit nie, maar vra om verskoning - “‘t is my leet, ‘k versoek vergiffenis; ik ben dronken geweest”.

    Sy straf is 5 ryksdaalders aan die diakoniekas ten behoewe van Drakenstein armes en hy moet ook die kerkraad om verskoning vra.

    Arrived at the Cape in 1683 with his wife. In the marriage register of Guines, France there is an entry on 9.5.1677 of a marriage of Pierre Le Febre with Marie Guignart which could possibly that of the immigrant. Lived at Fleurbaix.
    du Plooy.paf: Hulle was van die dorpie Fleurbaix in die destydse Franse provisie Artois, afkomstig. Aankoms 1683 met sy vrou. In 1696 woon hy op die plaas "Fleurbaai" onder Stellenbosch. Saam met hulle was Pierre se suster, Barbere, wat in 1684 trou met Nikolaus Cleef.
