Together with his wife, they signed their will at Stellenbosch on the 5th January, 1772 when they were already resident "Aan de Sneeubergen" [Against the Snow Mountains]. The left "een somma van 25 Guldens ind. valutie" [the sum of 25 Gulden in value] to "Diakonie armen in 't Land van Wavern" [The deacons for the poor in the area now known as Tulbach]
