    Notes:

    He attended the industrial school in Chemnitz, studied in Stuttgart and Dresden and attained doctorates in engineering and chemistry. As such he entered the chemical factory "Society for Chemical and Metallurgical Production in Aussig.
    In 1915 he was called up for military service but was soon reclaimed for the factory.
    As a member of the German State he was forced to leave the country in 1934 and became director of the newly established Gas Black factory in Oranienburg near Berlin.

    Notes:

    He attended the school in Koln and entered a commercial apprenticeship in Frankfurt am Main, where he could indulge in his love for music in his free time. He had much encouragement in this from the Offenbach relatives, the Andre family, the former Mozart publishers.
    For many years he was confidential clerk of the banking house Fink.
    As a sincere nature lover he was anxious to leave the metropolis and in 1890 he took a post as fund manager with a bank in Weimar. When this bank was taken over by the Magdeburg Private Bank, and then by the Commercial and Private bank, he became an independent director. After a major operation he had to relinquish his post, sold his house in Weimar and moved to Heidelberg where his daughter lived.

    Removed the Birth date of 1806, Coln for the date in the Huckenbach book( translated into english by Greeff Francois and Viljoen)

    Until his marriage Robert lived in Barmen and then moved to Koln where he and his brother Richad jointly started the firm dealing in Barmen trimming and edging articles. Later the couple moved to Frankfurt am Main, where he made contact with his relative Ernst Greeff-Bettelhauser and the opera singer Paul Greeff.
    Laura Greeff was very interested in Language and literature. She was fond of recounting that in her youth she had attended the session of the German National Assembly in the Church of st. Paul.
    After the death of her husband she moved to Weimar with the family of her son Edward.

    Robert married Laura ANDRE on 20 Dec 1849 in Hanau. Laura (daughter of Chief Forester ANDRE) was born in 8 December1825 in Dusseldorf; died on 17 May 1909 in Weimar. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
