The same as Guillaume le Lievre of Lille. De Haas is a literal translation from the French le Lievre. His name became de Haas at the Cape but sometimes le Lievre stil slipped through as eg. in the return of 1705. In part 2 of SA Genealogies, Guillaume is mistakenly given as a child of Pierre le Fèbre.

Guillaume married Marie-Catherine DURIER about 1689 in Vollenhove, Overijsel, Netherlands. Marie-Catherine was born about 1670 in of Lille, France; died in 1725 in Cape, South Africa. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

Record shows "From Lille"Presumably Belgium but most likely France. Her will was dated 1718.
