2. | Johann Peter NEUMANN was born in 6 February1779 in Langenberg (son of Joh. Peter Neumann NEUMANN and Johanne Wilhelmine TESCHEMACHER); died in 6 August 1866 in Neuwied. Notes:

Peter Neumann first attended the primary school in Langenberg, then the grammar school under rector Weber.
Together with his brother Carl he then went to the Gymnasium Adolphinum in Mors, at which his uncle Johann Heinrich Neumann was a teacher.
When the Gymnasium had to be closed as a result of the turmoil caused by the French Revolution, the brothers came to the gymnasium in Cleve. Both then attended the Reformed University in Utrecht, where they were assisted in their studies by the so-called Pfalzische Stipendium. After conclusion of his studies Peter preached at several places, was examined by the Classe of Cleve, then chosen as Preacher in Dussel and examined for the second time by the Classe of Elberfield.
From Dussel he went to Grafrath as preacher in 1807, from there to Mulheim on the Ruhr, where he had his festive entry on 4 April 1816. Later he went to Wulfrath. as emeretus he moved to Neuwied to his daughter Maria. his grandson Otto Funcke wrote his detailed biography.
Johann married Maria Christine GREEFF. Maria (daughter of Gottfried Abraham GREEFF and Maria Catharina ZUR LOWEN) was born in 27 February1789; died in 6 February1858. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
