She was born 25 February 1840 in Swellendam and died in Swellendam, daughter of CORNELIUS GUNTER [144] and JACOBA MARGARETHA [143]. Notes on JAMES GAMBOLD ALEXANDER DUNN [11] James addressed a letter to the Master of the Supreme Court in Cape Town on 28 January 1881 after the death of their sister Anne Thomasin Dunn. In this letter, he requested the court to allow the surviving brothers and sisters Paul Dunn, Sarah Francis Dunn, Mary Emma Dunn and himself to settle on the farm Rietfontein. The problem was that they jointly inherited the farm after the death of their mother Sarah Francis Pearson about eight years earlier. When Anne died, the farm was not yet registered to their names and he wanted the Deed of Transfer be finalized. James Alexander Dunn was buried on the farm Jakkalsfontein between Port Beaufort and Heidelberg, about 50 km's from Malagas. James owned the following farms: Grasrug, Kunzkraal, Rietfontein, Fransfontein (now Cape Infanta) across the Potteberg mountains including papkliulsfontein and Noetsie in total 8000 morgen.
