• Notes

  Karl spent hs youth in Barmen, where he attended the secondary school and later the vocational school. In 1880 he joined the Concordia Company. After completion of his year of military service in an infamtry regiment in Metz, he completed a commercial apprenticeship in New York. As later owner of a stock farm by El Paso in Texas he lost his life through an accident when moving stock; he was buried in Mexico.
