Email to Greeff@Greeff.info, 4 April 2007:My mother was born 1920 in Cape Town the second child of seven, to Christopher Thomas George Nell (from Rustenburg) and Mary Ann Greef. Mary Ann was born about 1897, according to the divorce data (1947, Cape Town). Her father was a builder. I know virtually nothing else about the family. Rootsweb letter of 17 August 2001:"My grandfather, Christopher Thomas George NELL was born in November 1896 in Rustenburg in the Transvaal. His parents were Thomas and Elizabeth Nell. CTG married my grandmother, Mary Ann GREEF probably about 1918, and probably in the Cape Town area. They had one son before my mother, Elizabeth Gertrude Alice, was born in Woodstock in April 1920. I believe Mary Ann and CTG had about eleven children altogether, but that may not be correct. 1947 my grandparents divorced and CTG married Beryl Mary Duke in Belleville. CTG died in March 1965. According to his death notice, he and Beryl had two daughters, Lynette Louise Nell and Dawn Ivy Nell. Until I read the death notice I had no idea that I had two half aunts. I would dearly love to find out more about them, so if any one has any connection to any of the people Ive mentioned, or if any of them feature in a family tree somewhere, I would be exceedingly grateful for any information on them."
