  Sieger attende school in Amsterdam and at age 17 entered the technical university in Delft. At 23 he completed his study and became a chemical engineer. He then worked two years on a dissertation and wrote abook on the ethylisation of chlorbenzol. On the basis of these works he receved his doctorate in engineering. In 1912 he procured an appointment with the German Gold and Silverplating Plant in Frankfurt am Main. In april 1914 he became the chemical operations manager with the Amsterdam Quinine Factory and its Director in 1918. He changed from the Nederduitse Hervormde Kerk to the Anglican Episcopal Church.
