  Traudi attended the sceondary girls school in Barmen, then during 1934/35 the horticultural schhool in Godesberg, served an apprenticeship in the private nursery of Hugo Stinnes in Mulheim on the Ruhr during 1935/36 and passed the examination for gardening assistant in Mulheim on the Ruhr early 1936. until early 1938 she worked in the biologically dynamic cultivated garden of the estate Korreshof by Mettmann.
