- He attended the model school (secondary school) in Frankfurt am main. His highest ambition, to become a naval doctor, foundered on the lacking sharpness of sight in one eye.
Because of this he abandoned his studies in medicine and became an actor.
After his completion of his one year of voluntary service n Field Artillery Regiment no. 63 in Kastell he found an engagement as youthful amateur and stage director on several German stages.
He then changed his occupation and found good employment as technical merchant with the Sachsenwerk in Dresden. he served in the World War as Lieutenant in the Reserve of Field Artillery Regiment no. 12.
After a wound sustained in Dec 1914 on the western front had healed he came to Galicia in Feb 1915. During the withdrawel of troop from Rumania in autumn 1918 he was again wounded and had to be left behind in Corabia. However he could be brought to Germany in a cattle truck of the last train of Field Marshal von Mackensen's army, where his relatives could receive him after months of uncertainty, happy although badly wounded.
In October 1919 the Sachensenwerk in Dresden transferred him to Leipzig as department manager, where he died as a consequence of his wounds.
