  Ex Slave of Hans Geringer Anna is op 5.6.1698, toe 22 jaar oud, deur die skipper Cornelis Keeleman aan Gerrit Meyer verkoop vir 54 Rds. Meyer het in 1693 vanaf Nederland gekom, en is getroud met Susanna Costeux, 'n dogter van Franse vlugtelinge. Meyer se kinders, met geboorte datums, was as volg: Hendrik (12.9.1694), Susanna Margaretha (1695 of 1696), Elsabe (31.3.1697) en laatlammetjie, Jesias Engelbert (6.9.1733). Op 20.7.1702 is Anna deur Jan Laurentz aan Christiaan Weinock verkoop. Sy is toe in die Transportakte vermeld as 26 jaar oud. Dit was 'n jaar nadat Laurentz met Woutrina Mostert in die eg getree het op 1.5.1701, en 'n eersteling in die huwelik gebore is op 30.4.1702. Christiaan Weinock het op 20.12.1702 'n erf in Taffelvallei, aangrensend aan Kerkplein, gekoop. Weinock het in 1703 sy totale eiendom aan Jan Laurentz verkoop, en dit moes toe gewees het dat sy die eiendom van Geringer geword het. Die skrywer maak die afleiding dat die Laurentz-huishouding om een of ander rede nie vir Anna wou terugneem nie. Geringer het op daardie stadium eiendom in Heerestraat, Tafelvallei, besit sedert 17.4.1701. Volgens die geboortedatum van haar en Geringer se kind moes sy toe reeds swanger gewees het. 'n Kind is in 1703 gebore genoem Maria Groothenning of Maria Bock, of Maria van die Kaap. Anna Groothenning is met haar kinders in 1709 deur Geringer losgekoop uit slawerny. Sy, met haar kinders, is op 1.1.1713 in die N G Gemeente Kaapstad gedoop. Sy trou op 5.2.1713 met Geringer se vriend en vennoot, Christiaan Bock, wat drie jaar later in 1716 oorlede is. Sy raak na Bock se dood betrokke in 'n buite-egtelike verhouding met Jacob Marik, volgens hofsake tussen hom en Geringer, 'n geslepe bedrieër. 'n Kind word uit die verhouding gebore op 6.3.1718. Geringer is oorlede in 1719. STAMVADER Christiaan BOK Christiaan BOK was from Wolfenbütel, North Germany. He was 27 and asoldier when he arrived at the Cape in 1696. He came out with Geringerand they became business partners. He had the following children withex-slave Anna van BENGAL also known as Anna GROOTHENNING. She and herchild Anna was baptised 1 January 1713. They got married 5 February 1713. Anna Groothenning came as a slave from Bengale and became the slave ofthe baker Hans Casper Geringer. Geringer had a child out of wedlock withAnna, this child was born in 1703 and was called Maria Groothenning /Maria Bock / Maria van die Kaap. In 1709 Anna Groothenning and her fourchildren Michiel, Maria, Catharina and Johanna were manumitted 27 August1709 by Geringer. Anna Groothenning and her children were baptised on 1 January 1713 inCape Town. Geringer and Christaan Bok were business partners. Children:b1 Michiel Bok baptised 17 March 1702, X 2 July 1719 Elisabeth van derPoelMaria born 1703, her father was Geringer. Maria herself had anillegitimate son by Nicolaas Bruyns. She later married Thomas Eysmanb2 Catharina born 1705, married at age 13 on 27 February 1718 EstieneGous.b3 Johanna born 1708 (later known as Anna), when she was fourteen yearsold she married Andries Bester on 13 February 1724, thus becoming thestammoeder of the Bester family b4 Christiaan baptised 8 July 1714 never marriedb5 Clara born in 1716, at age 15 she married 4 February 1731 Johan JurgenFuchs (also known as Vos), XX 1 August 1756 Gideon Slabbert Bok died in 1716. Anna Groothenning had also children with Hans CasparGeringer, a girl named Maria. Geringer passed away in 1719. Anna then had an affair with Jacob Marik, she had a son who was born 6March 1718 named Jacob baptised 6 March 1718. Marik and Geringer had somelegal cases against one another.
