  Having completed a B.Com degree at Stellenbosch, he went to London for a year, and was appointed as I.T. Manager for Octagon Marketing, Putney. After his return to Cape Town in 2002 he was immediately appointed in the same position at Octagon, Cape. His relationship with Janine, the PR and advertising producer, was more than just official business, and they were married in 2005. In January 2007 he switched to Coronation Fund Managers and works as their IT Manager in Newlands. He and Janine are expecting their first child, a boy, in November.
