• Notes

  Hermann attended the secondary school in Barmen, then entered his fathers business as apprentice and served one year in the Fusilier Guards in Berlin. Then he established a branch of the firm "Greeff-Bredt & Comp" in Toronto, until the war years made it appear prudent to sell the business. During 1916-1920 he lived in Los Angelos, until 1924 in Baden-Baden and finally in Los Gatos where he bought property.
