- Christiaan was the progenitor (stamvader) of Maasdorp family in South Africa. He arrived in the Cape in 1697 as a sailor.
From 1701 to 1705 he was a master wagon-maker.
In May 1719 he became a sergeant of the "Burgermacht".
Licencee wine and brandy licence "Rondebosch".
He received the farm "Watervliet" in the district of Drakenstein. When he married Helena van der Merwe he became the owner of her late husband's farm "Wittenberg" in Suid Paarl, as well as the farm "Nuwedorp" in Groot Drakenstein. He sold "Wittenberg" on 2 Jul 1716 to his brother-in-law, Schalk van der Merwe. He sold "Nuwedorp" on 6 Nov 1716 to Heinrich Scheffer.
