Notes |
- She seems consistently to have thought of herself as Sicilia Jansen, i.e. without any van Rensburg attached. She is so named in the will of her step-sister and foster mother, Maria van Staden, as a witness at the baptism of her niece, Elsie, the post-humous daughter of her brother Willem in 1746, at the baptism of her own son Carel in 1752 and in her own will (MOOC 7/1/21, 39) of 1770.
Christened:
- At Drakenstein Church (surname spelling: Rynsburgh). Witnesses were Schalk van der Merwe and Anna Prevot, Aletta’s brother and his wife.
