  A1b1c2d5e1f2g4h6 His tombstone indicates that he was born on 22 May 1894 and that he died on 12 June 1895, according to records submitted by Wouter du Preez, July 2007. These facts are correct insofar as they reflect the inscription on the stone, but not as they relate to the actual events. According to the records kept in the record of baptisms by the N G Gemeente Lichtenburg, as recorded against the events for G J de Wet, the date of birth is 1893 and he died a year later in 1894. When the tombstone was erected, probably some years after the burial, they remembered that the boy was one year old when he died, they remembered the actual dates but miscalculated the year in which the events took place.
