  Burger Stellenbosch I wrote 9-9-2001: Lesli Langsmith mentioned on the English List that she saw a Bible containing a family tree of Frederik Potgieter listing his 2nd wife, Maria Magdalena LANDMAN's children. It is also mentioned that Frederik first married Eva Catharina KRIEL which is correct according to my data . In the Bible it is mentioned: "Deze drie kinderen sijn op Hottentots Holland by Hermanus Kriel op die plaats genaamd Cloetenburg overleden en bij malkander begraven." (almal 1772 oorlede)Translation: These 3 Potgieter/Landman children died at Hottentots Holland on the farm Cloetenburg at Hermanus Kriel and are intered together (all of them died 1772) This Hermanus Kriel (was married to Elsabe WIUM the widow of Daniel Wynand Malan) was Eva Catharina Kriel's brother: b8 Hermanus Kriel = 14-11-1734, farmer at Drakenstein x ?-12-1766 Elsabe Wium = 26-04-1734, daughter of ancestor Pieter Wium from Vion (Wion)Denmark and Anna de Haase. Hermanus se twee seuns en kleinkinders is in Stellenbosch gedoop. 4 Malan-kinders.
