  Cacilie details were as follows birth 26/10/1825 death 22/2/1895 changed these dates to the ones found in the Huckenbach book translated into english by Greeff, Francois and Greeff, Viljoen Caecilie Greeff was the daughter of a deservedly famous scholar and naturalist. Professor Dr. Garthe was engaged in enthusiastic correspondence with Alexander Humbolt about cosmic problems. He was the founder of the botanical and zoological gardens in Koln, where his statue stands. He was especially well known for repeating Foucaulds pendulum experiment, a proof of the earth turning on its axis, in the Koln cathedral in the presence of many members of royalty.
