    Notes:

    He attended the Barmen secondary school until Obersekunda (11th year of schooling) then an agricultural school in Hagen, and later the agricultural Academy in Bonn.
    In between he served as trainee and volunteer on estates in Westfalen, schleswig-Holstein, Mecklenburg and Hessen-Nassau.
    Early in 1913 he took over the manor of Dussel and managed it till 1927.
    Then he leased the estate, but reserved the manor house.
    In the World War he served as officer with the Trains Column from Sep 1914 until Mar 1916, lastly with the Infantry Munitions /Column of the VII. Reserve Corps in France.

    Rittergut Dussel

    Landowner/farmer. Owned Gut Düssel from 1913. Served in WWI from 1914 to 1916. Lived off the family's capital after Gut Düssel was destroyed and sold in 1945.

    Peter married Annemarie NORDQUIST on 27 Aug 1927 in Hamburg, Germany. Annemarie (daughter of G. NORDQUIST) was born on 19 Jul 1902 in Hamburg, Germany; died in Jul 2005 in Braunschweig, Germany. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

    Served in the war as 16 yr old "flakhelfer". Later education as textile tradesman. Worked as commercial clerk in the oil industry (Gelsenberg, later VEBA). Lived across the road from old Rittergut Düssel in the first protestant church building dating from 1678, which was converted to an appartement house when the new church was built. (The house belongs to the GREEFF family and is now partially inhabited by Ursula HEEG). Rittergut Düssel was bombed in April 1945 and later sold. Hobbies: (family) history.

Suffers from Glanzmann's Thrombasthenia or morbus glanzmann-nägeli. It affects the blood coagulation. The respective gene is located on chromosome 17, not on the y-chromosome, and the disease is passed on recessively, so both my parents must have carried the defective gene.
