    GC de Wet, in his commentary on Resolusies van die Politieke Raad (Vol VI p129), writes that "Jan Jurgen Roos van Eisenach, soldaat, arriveer 1710. In 1711 bode van die Laddrost Stellenbosch, 1715 bode van die weeskamer. 1715 Vryburger. Hy was getroud met Sara Coetzee, weduwee van Matthijs Greeff. Hy is in 1722 oorlede."
    Neither Matthijs nor Roos could possibly have died in 1722 because the taxation and inventory of the deceased estate of Roos himself (dated 21 Dec 1718) mentions that he was married to the widow of Matthijs Greeff. Thus Roos could not have died in 1722. Nor could Matthys, whose widow married Roos.

    Moses van Jamby het saam met mede-slawe van hom hul eienaar, Hendrik Greeff, se plaas by Paardeberg na die Kaap gedros omdat hulle na hul mening onskuldig gestraf was. In die Kaap is hulle almal gevang en het die "Caffer" hulle gegèsel voordat hulle na Greeff terug gestuur was.
    318 Moses en sy mede drosters was hierna aangesê om koring te sny. Moses, wat nog nie van sy wonde herstel het nie, het nie kans gesien om die werk te doen nie en het uit vrees vir verdere straf, weer gedros - die keer na Wagenmakersvallei waar hy hom by die die slawe Valentyn en Dam, wat ook van Greeff af gedros het, aangesluit het. Moses se verblyf in die Wagenmakersvallei was van korte duur want hy is deur David en Marthinus, slawe van N.G. Heyns, gevang en na Greeff se skoonpa, Lategan, geneem. Moses het probeer ontvlug en David met 'n mes gesteek. Gelukkig vir Moses het David van sy wonde herstel en het Moses op die aanklag van "quetsing" tereggestaan. Sy straf was om gegèsel te word, gebrandmerk en vyftien jaar op Robbeneiland in kettings te werk.
    319 Die makkers van Moses - Paul van Ternate, Valentyn van die Kaap en Carolus van Malabar - het nog 'n tyd lank in die Wagenmakersvallei rondgeswerf en van vrugte en kwepers gelewe wat hulle uit tuine gesteel het. Hier het Casper van Terra de Natal, die slaaf van die weduwee van Urbanus Sauermann, hom by hulle aangesluit omdat hy nie langer die slanery deur die weduwee se jongste seun kon verduur nie.
    320 Anders as die ander slawe wat te voet na die binneland gedros het, het hulle twee perde by Greeff en Sauermann gesteel. Voorsien van biltong en twee ooie wat hulle aangejaag het, het hulle te perd na die Nuweveld vertrek. Hulle reis het voorspoedig verloop totdat hulle die plaas van Gerrit Putter in die Roggeveld bereik het en die Khoikhoi veewagter, Flink, ontmoet het. Hulle het aan die skaapwagter gesê dat hulle aan Gerrit Boot behoort en dat laasgenoemde hulle met 'n wa volg op pad na sy nuwe plaas verder Noord.
    321 Flink het onraad vermoed en sy werkgewer daarvan gesê. Die nag het hulle die skaapkraal opgepas en die slawe aangekeer wat daar twee hamels wou steel. Van die slawe het weggekom en is eers by Klein Rietrivier gevang voor hulle na die landdros op Stellenbosch gebring is. Die vier slawe was aangekla van "aufugie", "complottery" veediefstal en tuindiefstal en veroordeel om gegèsel en gebrandmerk te word. Verder moes hulle vir vyftien jaar in kettings by hulle meesters werk.
    322 Die besluit om die drosters na hulle eienaars terug te stuur dui daarop dat die regbank die eienaar se belange in ag geneem het. Drie van die vier slawe het aan Hendrik Greeff behoort en sy slaaf Moses van Jamby, was reeds vroeër die betrokke jaar vir 15 jaar dwangarbeid na Robbeneiland gevonnis.
    323 Boonop was sy slaaf Damon tydens hulle ontvlugting deur 'n kommando doodgeskiet.
    324 Die jong landbouer Greeff, wat in 1742 gebore en in 1765 getroud was,
    325 sou deur die verlies van nog drie van sy slawe nie die mas kon opkom nie. Die gevalle van drossery wat tot dusver genoem is, is verteenwoordigend van die algemene verskynsel van drossery in die agtiende eeu en word in die addendum weerspieël. Dit is egter belangrik om daarop te let dat die oorgrote meerderheid van die gevalle wat in die Sentenciën-reeks verskyn, te make het met meer as die enkele klag van drossery. Die rede hiervoor is die feit dat drosters gewoonlik binne 'n dag of twee gevind is en deur hulle eienaars self gestraf was. Daar is dus nie regsdokumente wat hierdie "eenvoudige" drossery beskryf nie en kan daar dan ook nie oor die omvang van hierdie verskynsel bespiegel word nie.
