    Hester Keevy told me that he was very short, about four foot six inches, and wore children's shoes. A photograph of him beside a daisyback chair confirms what she said. She added that he farmed on the farm Draaihoek, where he lived with his wife and her brother and his sister, who, the four of them, made two married couples. The second Couple were Casparus Johannes Lotter and Anna Maria Francina Greeff. I do not know whether they had separate houses, rooms, etc.

    Ek is getroud met:Let daarop dat Maria Gesina LOTTER se pa Casparus Johannes LOTTER was, en van daar kom die naam Casparus Johannes in die Greeff familie. Casparus Johannes verskyn volop in die Greeff familie en een van hulle sit in die tronk. Nog een was professor op Stellenbosch. 'n Ander skryf vir die Sunday Times.My oupa (Izak Jacob, gebore 11-4-1869) se broer, Casparus Johannes, se seun Casparus Johannes is met Elizabeth Jacobs getroud op Volksrust. Haar suster Cecilia (tant Cil), is weer met my oupa se jongste broer, Francois Petrus, getroud. My oupa se broer en broerskind is dus met twee susters getroud. Tant Cil-hulle het twee seuns gehad. Die oudste seun, Stoffel, se seun, Francois (Petrus?) Greeff, is ‘n bekende chirurg in Pretoria, en hy het ook ‘n dogter, Linda (getroude van Kotze). Die ander seun, Framan (ek neem aan Francois Petrus) het nie kinders gehad nie.Caspar Greeff wat in die tronk is (vir die moord van sy 2e vrou, Estelle), is my kleinneef. Hy was ‘n bekende tandarts in Kempton Park. Hy is die seun van Willen Gabriël, seun van my oupa se broer Casparus Johannes! Hy het net ‘n suster, Marie.My pa se broer, Izak Jacob, was in die laat 1960’s tot vroeë 1970’s hoofbestuurder van Volkskas Bank en hy was ook ‘n direkteur van die Landbank. Dit lyk my ek het dit verkeerd dat my oupa die middelste van die 3 seuns was. Hy was eintlik die oudste.
