    Medical doctor practising in Volkershausen. He studied medicine in Tubingen and showed special interest in anatomy, in particular in themusculature of the face. After the state examination he was voluntary assistant by Rudolf Virchow, then assistantdoctor by Lohmann at the White Stag by Dresden.
    Later he turned to anthropological studies that took him to different countries and parts of the earth with partial assistance by the state of Prussia. On these travels he made plaster casts of faces and entire heads of living persons, from an artistic as well as a scientific point of view, especially inSweden and the Caucasus.
    His collection in Volershausen, which was often visited by scholars from elsewhere, comprised some 1500 pieces.

    Doctor of medicine and medical practitioner in Cannstadt, in the World War Chief Doctor and Battalion Doctor in the infantry regiment "Old Wurttemberg" no. 121, since 1916 Surgeon-major. He was a ships doctor with the line North
    German Loyd, then for a number of years assistant to Privy Councillor Fleiner in Heidelberg, internist in Stuttgart, doctor in Hofen on the Enz, ultimately in Cannstadt.
    He published a row of scientific works on internal medicine and hygiene.

    Julius married Helene Emilie BREITUNG on 16 Dec 1913 in Strassburg. Helene (daughter of Phil Arno BREITUNG and Anna SEITZ) was born on 13 Nov 1881 in Markirch; and died. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

    At a later stage the control of the weaving mill of the Barmen firm "Greeff & Comp." was mainly in the hands of Hugo Greeff while Julius Greeff was more concerned with the running of the button factory. After the death of Julius in 1890 control passed at first to Hugo alone.
