  Text	From p.46 of this article, in which is extracted Philip van Wyck's research: '...Now it is known from the list of "Vrije Luiden" at the Cape of 1688 that Roelof van Wyk and his wife Trijntje Jans (who as per Hoge becomes a member of the reformed church at the Cape on August 18, 1688) had a son. This son must have been born before Roelof's arrival at the Cape, as otherwise his baptism would have been recorded there. Now we must assume that Adriaan van Wyk who married at the Cape shortly before 1694 Cornelia Helm or Helmes, was this very son of Roelof's and Trijntje Jans or an earlier wife. Accordingly he names his own first born son Roelof after his father and a later daughter Catharina after his mother or stepmother...' J.A. Heese's footnote to this article added: 'There might have been some relationship between Willem van Wyk and Arie van Wyk. When the first child of Willem van Wyk was baptised in Cape Town (13/4/1686) Roelof and Tryntje van Wyk were witnesses. They were also witnesses when Arie's first child Roelof was baptised on 5 September 1694...'
